my mother always chose her husband (our father) over us even though he is a drinker, violent and a sexual abuser. she was never loyal to us ands chose that sick relationship over us. today both daughters will have nothing to do with either her or our father. she laments, but we feel she deserves the life that she chose. there comes a time when you have to enforce your own boundaries. it feels so much better.

Someone I knew was raped by her step farther from when she was about 4 untill she was in her teens. The mother knew but still stayed with him. The child tryed to tell her other family, but when the mother found out she made the child go back and say she was lying. Her family called her a slut and the familys still broken up.
It makes me sick to think some people would choose their boyfriend over their own child.
