  • The 2010 Prius needs more power cause it weighs about 400 lbs more than the Insight. I own a 2010 Insight and it does not "struggle" to maintain highway speeds! 38 mpg? CR, how come all the other reviewers, including myself, are easily able to beat the EPA rating of 40/43? Consumer Reports is now as trustworthy as the National Inquirer. Total FRAUDS!. Stick to reviewing washing machines CR!

  • @1krr, how is low 30s on the highway (and much less in the city) at all comparable to these cars? Ever heard of Peak Oil?

  • People need to remember that this was 2009, the first year of the Insight, and it's been refined since then. The bias against it is palpable in this review, but the Prius is more of a true "hybrid" if one wants to pay the extra $4 or 5k. I personally wish they call it something besides "Prius" as it just doesn't sound right. Same with "Yaris."

  • @MGazT Please! Comparing German technology to the rest, is cheating ;-P

    ...

(European economic realities and German craftsmanship have produced marvels when Japanese were still crawling under the table)

  • I always hated the prius... until I got one. The 2010 has tight steering and handling, is peppy, especially in power mode, and delivers over 42mpg with a foot made of LEAD. Excellent car, though I highly suggest getting one that is fully loaded... There is a reason why there are virtually no insights on the road. What's the point of getting a hybrid if it can't propel itself at ANY speed on pure electric? Plenty of ugly, fuel efficient cars on the road, and they don't require giant batteries.

  • @proteusn7xr all you're doing is defending your foolish choice. Bottom line: you should've gotten a Prius. For that temporary lapse in judgement to maintain your now retarded sense of individuality, you will regret your decision for the life of your POS "hybrid" that is so pathetic, it can't even run on pure electric energy... pfft, what a joke.

  • I was going to say.Brought to you by Toyota. But she sums it up at the end quite nicely.None of the are remotely desireable

  • That vette can get low 30s on the highway with 505hp of ass kicking in the bag. Hybrids are for hipsters and suburbanites who think being green is buying something with the right badge........

  • Sounds like they're just whoring themselves out for Toyota. Completely useless.

  • Basically they are saying the INSIGHT needs to go back to the drawing board.

  • what? Prius get better on freeway? are u guys got shot in your head??

and fuel efficient is depend on how u driving not what u driving

buy a diesel not that stupid hybrid thing
