This is 2007 I grant you, but nowadays it's probably easier to just use a computer to play the sounds through with a sound system.

how did you handle the scene where the car hits the tree? (this is near the scene where clarence first makes himself known to jimmy stewrts character.) Did you folley that or use a taped effect? what about the swimming pool opening up and all those kids jumping in?

Awesome! I was first introduced to foley at Disney's MGM theater, where they actually involve the audience in adding foley effects to an old Chevy Chase movie. I've done my own foley in local radio commercials - including getting fish to jump into a boat (because the lure was so amazing, the fish just decided to surrender!). Took wet paper towels and slapped & sloshed them inside of a plastic mail bin. The illusion on radio was quite convincing. Fish - jumping into the boat... by the boat load!

But they do their effects like this, then they use computers to add them -.-
