Shoe-throwing Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi, a reporter with Cairo-based network Al Baghdadia Television, had experienced first-hand the brutal violence that consumed Iraq last year, reports the Washington Post: Zaidi, colleagues said, was kidnapped by Shiite militiamen last year and was later released.

In an eyewitness account of the shoe-throwing incident, Modest Bee reporter Adam Ashton reports that Bush and Maliki had just finished their speeches and were preparing to take questions from the Iraqi media, who "have never had a chance to ask a question to the American president" when "the shoes started flying."

In additon, Ashton reports that Iraqi security guards removed two more Iraqi journalists who had praised Zaidi's shoe-throwing protest as courageous:

  • LOL i bet that guy is in Guantanamo Bay right now getting his daily cock meat sandwitch

  • christaykendra, we are not arrogant nor are ignorant. The world at large hates us, but as you can see with the recent financial crunch, the world at large needs us, our money, our education, and more importantly, our army. We gave you the weapons to kill yourselves, so just please do so.

    PHD.

  • Ok lets discuss agility shall we? Ok... where do I start? First of all, While people were Dying in New Orleans, Bush is essentially in his treehouse reading Superfudge. Then, there's the worse call of dagger thrusting into Baghdad assuming we were supposed to be there in the first place. To do so is tactical suicide. They knew this and W over here failed to react with enough agility to prevent our current situation. Then, we have the nerve to down russia for doing exactly what we have in Iraq.

  • dont even type. lmao

  • hij zegd hier is jou afscheid

  • Wow, there's such a blatant display of how much you're country is hated by Iraqis and the intl. community at large and ur arrogance doesn't even allow to catch the big picture, the symbolism of this act. Instead U go on to talk of Bush's agility? That's like commending the 9/11 attackers for their plane hijacking prowess and claiming that the owned your airport security personnel.

  • Not really. Bush ducked the shoes with agility and blew it off with a joke. That idiot "journalist" was owned. He had two close range shots at W and blew it. Incidentally, the Commander in Chief followed this event with an appearance at Camp Victory where he was enthusiastically cheered by the troops and thanked them for their sacrifice and dedication to liberating 26 million Iraqis from the 35 year grip of the despot Saddam and helping them build a future of democracy and prosperity. W owns.

  • Owned.
