  • hi, I am going to be their later next year. How much was your guided tour? where did you stay in Borneo? - where is good?

  • Check out the archives on my website from May 2006 for my blog posts while i was there.

  • what trail did u take? i took the merci lau trail.. it was 8 km to laban rata,

  • lol...the shortest one...but i don't remember the name!

  • How far up the mountain do you still find people living?

  • Not too sure to be honest. The trail up the mountain is quite heavily used so not many people live near it. There is a camp at 3300 where some people stay for short periods if they are working there. Hope this helps!

  • You can get some very good deals. It cost me $Aussie250 which got a hotel room for 3 nights, down by the beach, plus a bunk in the hut halfway up the mountain. I left stuff in hotel and went to do the climb with a small pack, stayed at the hut on the mountain knowing that my stuff was safe back at the hotel - brilliant! If you abseil, taker some stuff and you can abseil down the ledge that the Brits did in ww2.

  • if you want some other advice you can contact me too. i just climbed it about 3 weeks ago.

  • I bin there too . It was great .Saw a very tame tupaya and some nephentes carniverous plants .After that I went to [I believe it was cald ranau ] poring hot springs .Saw some orang oetangs there.
