060811 Butler County man fatally shot by deputy

A Butler County Sheriff's Department Deputy fatally shot a man armed with a butcher knife early Wednesday afternoon, as the deputy was answering a call of the man threatening family with a knife. Deputy Heath West had arrived at the home at 37 Big Oak Lane around 2 p.m., after a woman called Butler County Dispatch complaining her uncle was chasing her around the house with a butcher knife. As West arrived at the scene, he encountered a male subject sitting by the road who reported his brother had chased him to the location, armed with a knife.
