@PaKdlunch excuse me? i dont see you in the PSIA Alpine team... also, this is not out of date its a drill to execute a feeling... not a tactical move by any means
@jackgallau i can't see this video very well, but you can step to the uphill or new outside ski with out putting pressure on the big toe, before you start flexing in any direction you need to balance over the new outside ski or your weight will be completely on you inside ski, i think this is the point of this drill but with a poor name for the video
Poor form, this is just embedding the stem christie (or 2 big toe edges at the same time into skiing) into skiing. My goal as a skiier is to completely remove the stem from my skiing except for in the lift line. In my opinion the best transition is to flex both legs in the same direction and towards the tips of the skis. this will un weight th uphill edges and allowing you to transition onto the new edges, going into a high c carve and better your skiing
the point is not the "stem" it is early weight transfer to the outside ski. The earlier in the turn you balance on the outside ski, the better you can control pressure and shape a turn
Outdated and should not be followed. In order to step to the outside (stem) I would have to continue with my weight on my inside edge of my old outside ski. Not what we should do since this will put my center of mass to far to the inside and only in the finish phase of the turn will I have my weight directed to the outside ski. Try transferring the weight to the little toe edge of the new outside ski and then tip the skis with pressure on the boot cuff.
everyone makes those comments about separation on these videos, but there becoems a point where separation is just awkward especially when he's going slower

I literally saw very little separation between the upper and lower body. The upper body should be quite and faced down hill while the legs move.
