@0HaRdLoCk0 So I'm not saying "don't do it at all", I'm just saying "watch out what you're doing" and "better be safe than sorry". The CO2 concentration in the centre of the audience could become quite high and you'll never know what extremely high peak exposure will do to the body. Furthermore, people should become aware that the CO2 doesn't have to displace the oxygen to cause harm. Usually, there will be severe acidosis long before the suffocating effects begin to show up.

@0HaRdLoCk0 5 % CO2 by volume is sufficient for the acidosis to induce complete loss of consciousness and continuous exposure to 8 % by volume will kill after 30 to 60 minutes. As long as you have good ventilation that carries the CO2 out of the building, you usually shouldn't face any problems. When I was working as a DJ, sometimes I thought I'd "feel" the effect the CO2 had on my body. It's probably mainly a psychological effect though. No one has ever fainted during my shows. ;-)

@wow503 Yes I've heard of Acidosis, but I thought you had to be in an environment where the CO2 partials are extremely dense. eg, a cupboard with a whole CO2 canister. A club of that size would be fine, it would disperse too fast. Indeed there will always be risk of acidosis, but in a club of that size, it wouldn't be possible with just that canister.
If they went save I'm sure they would have been 'banned' in clubs.

if you dont like the Co2 canisters, dont go to the club, there are people there who do.

You are aware that liquid CO2 is poisonous and can potentially kill people? We use the same system in my work but we NEVER leave it on for that long. What you did there was very dangerous, it's a cool effect but not at the expense of somebody's life. If you know this system and how it works you really should know better.

@JSprayaEntertainment It will return into the atmosphere anyways, there's no way to keep it out and no need to do so. It has always been in there. Carbon doixide is the #1 waste product of metabolism and produced by all living things on earth (and also consumed by some). I'm also a supporter of "alternative energy", but one should take care not to become too hysteric about all this waffling about climate change. Of course many observations are real, but science is really distorted in this area.
No concern that it displaces enough oxygen to cause fainting in dancers? Must feel pretty nice.
