Ramona Falls - I Say Fever

"I Say Fever" - the first video from the Ramona Falls debut album Intuit. Directed by the ridiculously talented Stefan Nadelman, winner of a 2003 Sundance prize for his 22 minute film 'Terminal Bar', a prolific animator in the commericial field and the mastermind behind the Menomena Evil Bee video.

Ramona Falls is Brent Knopf's first solo venture, but he has an extensive musical resume as part of trio Menomena (an indie rock band from Portland, OR, that's snagged plaudits from such tastemakers as Pitchfork Media and the New York Times.)

How does someone even come up with this stuff? "Alright, there will be a bar, and this guy with a gun that shoots birds, and the birds will tear off people's heads, but there will be animal heads in their places! So it'll be like they're tearing off a mask... Yeah, but we should make it look like an old fashioned saloon drawing... perfect."

A trio of schemers swindle a town's population out of its masks. They hire a free agent (hawk outlaw) to collect the masks for them. The woman (wolf w/ perfume) hypnotizes another man (rabbit) into killing the outlaw. When the outlaw dies, the wolf woman kills the rabbit man, thereby re-gaining the wicker suitcase which held the hawk's payment. In the end, the woman, the warthog (her partner) and the coachman move on to another town to swindle more masks.

The video seems to imply that the inverse is true - she and her partner revealed the true, animal soul by stripping away the false, human mask. That she is predatory is not debatable. Whether her actions are evil is an entirely different philosophical dilemma.

It explains how evil a woman can be, and in this particular video, it shows all of the heads, or lives, this woman has taken from people, as you can see in the end of the video, all of the souls she has taken.
