NJ Transit Train No. 3255 Bayhead

NJ Transit Train No. 3255 Bayhead we boarder in NY Penn Station. While leaving we happen to see Amtrak Silver Meteor Train No. 97 leaving late due to a brush fire just outside the tunnel in NJ. it also has a private car in the back.. The guy in the background is an engineer for Amtrak talking to my son.

The ALP-46's don't go to Bay Head , only Long Branch.

Really? We left NY at 3:46 track 8 and on the departing sign it said Bayhead. I founded weird also, but I have a picture of the departing schedule.

@SuperStarRendon Yeah, it said that for a train last time I was in NYP.

The catenary ends at Long Branch, where you can connect to a Bay Head Shuttle (diesel powered)

Thanks for the info. My son told me also. He was also confused by the sign. . I knew of only diesel trains going there, but I've never been that part of NJ so couldn't tell you where the lines ended.

Yeah engineers are very friendly, if you catch them at the right time. Otherwise they are just old, cranky men who want nothing to do with you ;)
