Al Starita and the Kit -Kat Club Band 1925 "Can't your friend find a friend for me"

This band was owned by Jack Hylton and led by Al Starita(recruited from the Savoy Hotel) who played in London's Haymarket area.The 1925 band was known for it hot playing.The band opened at the Kit Cat playing opposite Vincent Lopez and they learnt fast from the visiting US bands.Ted Heath made some of his first records here.This track is typical of their early output.Strong rhythm and powerful solos.Song,Can't your friend find a friend for me.Composer Lou Handman.The recording engineer deserves praise for the fantastic balance and sound.The rhythm section can clearly be heard.A great record.
