Check out this behind-the-scenes tour of Jamestown's archeological lab with currator Bly Straub. This is the lab and vault where they have processed literally millions of artifacts pulled from the dig at the site of the 1607 Fort at Jamestown.

This video is a bonus feature on Finley-Holiday's upcoming "Where America Began DVD" filmed in HD.

  • I have some questions about the dig: How many feet must you dig to find the artifacts. Why are 400 year old human artifacts so deep in the earth at digs? Where does all that top soil come from? Is the earth growing a 5 foot layer of material every 100 years or what?
