Hodgie The Hedgehog Being Bribed!

Ahhhh, I can't take his smell anymore he really stinks! Since he trusts me more now, I decided to give him a bath today. But of course, I need to bribe him more first :) At least now, my grumpy Hodgie doesn't hiss and pop at me even when I'm so close. I'm so glad he trusts me more now! For the first few days, I got really worried as he would puff into a ball and hiss and pop non stop if I so much as walk pass his cage. Worst of all he wasn't eating his dry food, but he is now! He walks quite confidently around me now although he will puff up if I move, but at least he doesnt hiss and pop anymore. He only hisses and pops when anything touches him. It's still a great improvement. I'm trying my best to spend more time with my boy and hope he will trust me completely one day. Here you can see his little fangs during his treat session.

Oh! For the first time since I got him, I got to hold and cuddle him! It was during his bath that he let me hold him. I also used my mild rabbit's shampoo to get his stench away and dried him up good. I'm so happy Hodgie let me hold him. After I dried him, he seemed more used to my touch now and doesn't hiss and pop. He's sleeping now and I'm sure with the right tender loving care, he will love me back one day!

if yu want you hedgie to warm up to you wrap him or her in one of you old shirts for a few so they get used to your scent..

and if you hedgie smells you must no thave bathe dhim for a long time.

it might not be this way 100% but for me the female hedgies have alwasy been more cuddle loving than the males.
