  • holy shit...i was looking for thedouble video and lo and behold i find aaron rocking some reflection, among some other folks i recognize...but its the truth, greatest hit ever...gives me goosebumps every time i hear dave's commentary

  • hey, it's Aaron. Thanks for the comment! May I ask who this is?

  • Haha do you go to UW? Or are you one of the 53405746350763 people who live in King County and pledge your hearts to purple... Dude I'm not bombing you. The entire state of Washington lives in the past. What have you done for me lately in sports... NOTHING!!! If WSU sucks dick I won't wanna know the dirty dirty things that go on when grown men wear Purple.

    Nuff Said.

GO COUGS always reppin the 619

  • haha I go to Northwestern actually, but I grew up in Seattle. Unfortunately at Northwestern the athletes still wear purple, but our football team was 9-4 this year.

  • The sad thing is this is the best memory in Mariners history... You didn't even make it to the World Series... You win 116 games in a season and it amounts for nada.... That is rough.

  • Wow a fan of the WSU Cougars is one to talk about a sad athletic history!

  • i attended all three of those games. i was in third grade, and remember every minute of it vividly. i see this video, hear the ecstatic screams of dave niehaus, and get shivers throughout my body. sometimes, considering that the mariners have not had a similar post-season experience since 2000, i shed a few tears...

  • @packanie I know this is a year old, but I just found this vid...and this comment to a comment. Just to further packanie's sentiment regarding the Cougars...what's their record regarding the Apple Cup (aka "The most important football game in the great state of Washington")? Oh yeah... 31-65-6. Wow! GREAT football team ya'll got there! :D Go Huskies!

  • @Coug619 you're not a true fan then, just one that gets on the train when we're winning

  • hahaha hella people from ballard!

  • What made this play SO HUGE was the weeks leading up to it. The M's started August 13 games in the basement. Slowly they started to put together wins, often winning games in extra innings and down in the count (Remember "refuse to lose"?). It seemed everyone on the team made a contribution, not just the marquee players. They'd beat the Angels in a one game play off, to face the Yankees.. 5 games, this was the last inning of the last game. To say the city was electrified would be an undestatement

  • haha...its zach, your vietnam buddy, good vid

  • Gosh we should have won it all that year

  • would you upload the completed play?

from the hit to griffery scoring the winning run
