@Fragm3nt3d Yes, I cant find any info on exactly why he didnt return for this one. I am hoping he comes back for the fifth installment. Finding Michael was the only logical step story wise. The best thing they could do is focus on a much more detailed story next time. They do have a lot to work with, if only they can get Speedman to return.

I agree with you; it was weak story wise, with little character development. But you have to consider that Scott Speedman wasn't available to reprise Michael, so they were not able to continue with his and Selene's relationship which was the bulk of the storyline. You could say they were forced to go the way they did.
I do think they made up for it somewhat with the emotion Selene showed with Eve.
But it was like you said. Over all Id give it a 7 also. Satisfying, but lacking.

@TheDarkIllumination to be honest I didn't know that Scott Speedman wasn't able to reprise his role. That would explain the kid route. With the way it ended I wonder if he committed to Underworld 5.
