"Yakety Yak" was written, produced, and arranged by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller for The Coasters, and it became the only #1 hit among a string of hits that The Coasters had in the late 1950's. "Yakety Yak" dominated the radio airwaves during the summer of 1958 featuring King Curtis on sax.

  • yakety yak, don't talk black:-D

  • One person talked back.

  • Love it so much

  • I was my time and I love too much

  • This song's got a lot of likes/But one guy hit "dislike"/He got kicked out of the band/And got exiled back to Deutschland Yakity yak!(Don't talk back!)

(No offense to anybody from Germany, it was the only way I could make it rhyme, and was actually meant as a shout out to the German version of the song. In other words, the guy who hated this version liked the German cover better. Which is ok, it was an awesome version. Please don't hurt me.)

  • Great outdoors!

  • @bobcunha65 That's a really fun book!!!!

  • King Curtis' sax has always been a big part of this fabulous arrangement of one of the all time great hits of the Rock and Roll era.
