I know with wireless microphones and especially how it is here in the central valley of ca, wireless freq are a pain in the butt,... have you ever ran into that problem?

yea i was in a venue where they had me set up right in front of the dining area for this charity rummage sale. i ended up taping into the overhead speakers that were also in the lobby. my tops were plenty quiet, but there was no way around keeping the bass quiet.

At 7:00 you mentioned tapping into another's sound system. I tapped in to a house system at a club in Hollywood for a wedding and did a successful sound check with the resident DJ there, however the day of the wedding the resident DJ didn't show and the owner insisted on doing everything herself, but she was not audio enclined. Very distorted sound and cordless mic didn't work for the wedding singer. I'm never trusting a gig to someone's else system again!!!

@BassIsLoadedDJ Ok I found out that Ultimate stands are imported here in Greece, so I can update my "tripod fleet". I own one of the leading Mobile Djs companies in Greece and I'd like to establish a correspondence with you.
Goodday dear Rick. Could you pls tell me about those speaker stands, and how they manage to go that high? Is stability an issue here?

@christonika The Ultimate stands are rated to support up to 150lbs. They are the best stands out there for quality, strength, etc.

How did you have the wireless speakers connected so far away???

@MrDjkike I have a number of videos that show the wireless setup in more detail. Check out the agiprodj channel for more info. Thanks.

shouldn't the subs be in the corners of the room
gmangigson 1 year ago
@gmangigson Hey Gary - There is a benefit to sub placement in the corners. You have to take it on a venue by venue basis. Often times the corners of a room are so far removed from the dance floor that you lose the energy that you would have gained anyway. If you have the time, it's always nice to try setting the system a couple of different ways if you're on the fence about corners vs. coupling subs together. Coupling at least always gets you controlled/predictable energy on the floor.
