Charlottesville Gas - GAS Safety 101 (with Flicker the Flame)

This is a spot that I did for the Charlottesville Gas, which incorporates a few of their previous commercials.

This spot focuses on "Gas Safety" and brings back the mascot of Charlottesville Gas "Flicker the Flame."

The script was written by the client. I completed the motion graphics. Half of the scenes were shot and animated by USWATiger, while other shots were mine.

Flicker was designed in Adobe Illustrator and in Adobe Photoshop. All 2-D animation was created in Adobe After Effects.

Background images and looping backgrounds are from stock images and animations.

The music is royalty-free.

Aaaaww... "Flicker the Flame" is soooo cute. It's funny that Charlottesville's mascot for fire prevention is actually made of fire. I would have thought of a mascot like "Franny the Fire Extinguisher" or "Buffy the Bucket of Water".

Erm... Okay...

Hehe as for Flicker, yeah, he's showing how dangerous he really can be! And the compositing wasn't all me. The shots with the more detailed blinks are mine.

@carouselcorner Little shavers?!? LOL. And yeah, Flicker's pretty popular... there's even a real mascot who visits the schools.

He's not this short in real life though haha.
