In this session, participants will discuss the political and economic aspects of designing and adopting regulatory metrics. What are the key factors that link design to successful adoption and implementation? How can we ensure regulatory indicators are utilized in policy processes? How can indicators be used to create regulatory agendas and promote an open debate on regulatory priorities among policymakers, administrators and regulatory specialists? What is the proper role of international organizations in the dissemination of regulatory metrics?

The session will cover:
Innovations in regulatory indicators, regulatory agendas as a tool for holistic measurement and management, the European Network for Better Regulation and the DIADEM dataset, the use of regulatory measures at the World Bank, and the link between quality indicators and decision making.
