okay so what is the rule on pinning in judo? because i want to find a grappling martial art that i can transistion to from wrestling, and if there are pins like in wrestling i would love it.

@1hase Actually, if you position your legs right, and sort of wedge your knees below his body, you have him pinned just fine.

real life he punch u....but i want to learn pins for judo compitions so i can hold them for 25 seconds coz i got a other one for devon soon. march 14th is there a better way that doing a side pin coz that is kinda crap coz it is easy to get out of. lol

judo is in many ways a self defense - people forget it originated from jiu jitsu. in fact, if you do research, youll see people feared traditional jiujitsu masters over judo (when judo was new). after tournaments (death was frequent) judo picked up popularity.

WTF?! This pin (for judoists: yoko shiho gatame) will NEVER work this way! Your Opponent simply has to turn to his left to escape. Done correctly you hold your right or left arm across his chest to fix his left arm to his body and hold either your left arm below his head or your right arm below his leg. In these positions you can push with your body weight on his chest to prevent him from turning and escaping. Done as shown in the video you can't fix his left arm or get your weight on his chest.
