  • Methinks you've gone a bit overboard on this particular issue - but - to each - his or her own I suppose...

  • When did I say that I know more about God or the Bible than you or anybody else.

    Thanks for watching.

It's not a "Nation of christians" either because that would mean that the people of this nation are christians, not that MOST of them are christians.

You're welcome to state that christians are the majority. That's true. Saying we're a "nation of christians" is NOT true.

We're a diverse nation, to call us anything else would be misleading.

Just say "We're a predominantly christian nation" and leave it at that. Why must you have your cake and eat it too?

  • In god I do not trust, or believe. I cross that damned phrase out (with ink) on every bill that I get my hands on.

  • You obviously don't know much about our nation's history! John 8:32

  • @grogtgs No denomonation is banned. You are free to not believe in God just as much as you are to believe in God. I refuse to believe in anything and that is my right as a american.

  • @carnypimp which one can't you believe in? Which denomination is banned?

  • @grogtgs American are free not to believe in any form of theism.

  • Great video! I think what we can all take from this is that our founding fathers were as diverse religiously (within the narrow parameters of the time) as we are today, except that non of them were in any way similar to the modern evangelical fundamentalist.

Would you be ok with us calling this a Mexican nation if one day there are more Mexicans living here than any other race? Or a Muslim nation if one day the Muslims are the most prevalent?

Just because you have numbers doesn't make this nation yours. It probably would, but we have a government that ensures that this land is ALL OF OUR LAND.

  • "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other." - John Adams, Founding Father & 2nd U.S. President
