Star Ixiom - Opening Movie

This is the opening movie for the Playstation game Star Ixiom. I'm posting this because it's a pretty unknown game that was only released in Japan and Europe. The game was developed by Namco and it really shows on it's gameplay, setting and design, it is actually a sort of self homage to the classic Namco space shooters since it brings together the ships and enemies of many of those games like Galaxian, Bosconian, Starblade and of course, Star Luster, a Japan-only game released for the Nes of which this game is the sequel.

I think this intro is quite well done specially the music, and at the end it has a real blast. A chorus remake of the old Nes game theme tune (even with lyrics). If you want to hear the original Nes tune see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aErWb47OOSA

WOW.

I've just discovered Star Luster for the nes and I have to say....what an INCREDIBLE game.

For an 8 bit system it WHIPS the physics of Wing Commander for the snes and actually feels very 3D.

The lasers,the enemy ships, the handling all feel wonderfull.

I've played them all from rogue leader to starlancer and I have to say,for a game made in 1985,it really was/is a remarkable achievement.

It even has a cockpit view too. Amazing.

I shall check this game out too, thanx.

This game was awful. The 3d combat was pathetic next to Colony Wars.
