Miracles Don't Exist Christmas Oneshot

Do you believe in Christmas miracles? Or just everyday coincidences? I sat by my window, it was Christmas eve, and I was spending it alone. Just three days ago my boyfriend broke up with me he should've probably ended his sentence with a "Merry Christmas!" just to kick me when I was down.
I heard a knock on the door. I looked out the window to see a silhouette. So I walked to the door and opened it. I saw this guy standing there shivering soaking wet, which was a bit explainable since it had been pouring for days now "um hi..." his rough voice said "my car broke down a couple of miles ago, ca I use your phone?" I broke out of my trance "oh my god yeah! Let me get you a couple of towels to dry off" I let him in "the phone is in the kitchen I pointed toward the kitchen, and ran up for towels, I quickly grabbed two clean towels and throttled down the stairs "yeah I understand..." he said into the phone and hung up "here" I walked in and gave him the towels "thanks." he said and smiled I now actually saw his face he was really handsome, like out of this world handsome a little bit of a stubble on his face and thick eyebrows, a jawline that defined his whole face, his hair short and brown. His eyes, lazy looking, hazel, beautiful. I smiled. "i called the tow truck, he said that they're not working, being Christmas eve and all..." he sighed he looked down and back up at me in realization "oh god where are my manners" he said "I'm Joe" he smiled and put his hand out for me to shake "Demi" I shook his hand and he smiled "so, do you have anywhere to stay for the night? I asked truly hoping he wouldn't disappear and it was just a dream I've had while falling asleep on my couch but I didn't wake up and he didn't vanish so I guessed he was real "well I was heading towards Los Angeles but I guess I'm not anymore" he shrugged his shoulders "ummm... this is a strange proposition but if you want to you could stay here, there isn't any motels or hotels for miles away..." I said looking down "and, I don't have money for a hotel room, so I guess I can accept your proposition" he pushes his soaked pockets down I looked at him, but first I think you should probably change out of those wet clothes..." he smiled "yeah probably,but I left all my clean clothes in my car..." he looked up at me "I can give you a ride there and you can get your clothes" "please" he said I rode him to his car, but the car was stuck on the highway, he couldn't go alone, the cars whooshed past his car so I got out of my own car out to the pouring rain we ran carefully trying not to slip and he opened the trunk I took a big backpack and he took the rest which was a suitcase and some bags we ran back to my car and put the things inside my trunk I quickly closed the trunk and got to the drivers seat and he got to the copilots seat I breathed heavily it was cold I was wet and I didn't know why or how I've gone through so much today, but I did, I drove back home and we followed the same procedure, we took the bags out of the trunk of my car and run to my house we were now both dripping wet, my socks were we t form stepping on puddles and so were the bottoms of my jeans my hair was soaked and stuck to my face Joe looked at me and smiled "thanks" he said "it was nothing, really" I said lying and smiled "I'm thinking you possibly want to take a shower..." I looked at him, no ill just change, but if you need to the bathroom is-" "no I'm good ill just change to..." I smiled.
I sat on my chair next to my Christmas tree. Joe came in the room and sat on the couch next to me "I've prepared some coffee" I stood up on my socks and came back with a couple of coffee cups "here" I handed him one "I made it without caffeine I didn't know if you would have a problem with it." he smiled "anything warm is good right now." I smiled back "so..." he stared "it's Christmas eve and I'm guessing you celebrate because of your tree and all, so why so lonely?" he asked and I looked down "no one to celebrate with... my parents live up in Washington and plane tickets aren't cheap, so yeah." "what and no friends anything?" "um..." "sensible subject?" he asked making sure I was ok with talking about it which I actually was since I guessed I needed to tell someone "well you're here might as well tell you... um my boyfriend broke up with me three days ago... worst Christmas present ever." "oh..." "what about you, who were you gonna go see up in LA? Girlfriend or something?" I tried sounding nonchalant... didn't work out so well... "no, I'm single my parents actually. But its ok I told them I maybe wouldn't be able to make it so they'll be fine" he said putting his empty cup of coffee down on the coffee table "do you-?" "no thanks I'm good" "so you're single... that's good I've been looking for a good rebound" I joked but he gave me a look "I'm kidding" I chuckled and so did he.
