James Dean thought a Porsche Spyder was a cool car and this one is just as cool. This 1956 Porsche Spyder 550 replica is stunning. Beck built kit and fiberglass body with top and side windows. Powering this Spyder is an I4 2.2 Type I C-B performance motor mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The red vinyl interior sets off the silver blue exterior for a striking color combination and 24k gold emblems. Rolling on chrome wheels with 185/65/R15 front tires and 205/60/R15 rear tires. This professionally built Spyder will not disappoint and will turn many heads as you drive by. We can be reached at 704-598-2130 or e-mail us at sales@streetsideclassics.com

  • tires are too small

  • Why does everyone think some type of crap music is important to play with videos.

  • Like the mileage on the ODO, 5550... :-D

  • man, all of you should sit on it and drive it!

I have had the pleasure to do so, and let me tell you...

it ain't a death trap when all them good looking ladies turn their heads at you :D

It's an absolute joy to drive :)

  • @rodder4lf Your right. Rolf was badley injured in the crash with James Dean, but died in a later car crash (1981).

  • @JDSFLA (Rolf Wütherich (1927 – July 22, 1981) . He did not die in the James Dean crash. He was killed in an automobile crash in 1981 in Germany.

  • @Klaaaan1 James Dean died because he was speeding (estimated 70-75 mph 113-121 kph) and another car turned in front of him. Rolf Weutherich, a German mechanic riding with Dean also died. Dean had been issued a speeding ticket shortly before the crash by the California state police.

None of this indicated that this car is anymore a death trap than any other small two seat sports car of the period.

  • I would drive this Spyder before I drive a Smart Car. Hah!

  • Rly pro built replica most of da folks cudn't spot da difference! Props

  • James Dean also found out what a death trap this type of car can be.
