@munn2006 Roy Nelson is a legit BJJ black belt. Yeah his conditioning is piss poor (although he can go the rounds), but plenty of professional rugby players look like fat slobs and no-one questions their athleticism.
Would have been nice to see the idiot street punters' knee-jerk assessments challenged. It doesn't take much to change the perception of these boobs.
"Kids will copy this. That's bad."
"Really? So you don't think it would be a good thing for boys, seeing this, to enroll in a jiu-jitsu class and be shown how to pull off the moves safely, learning to understand the damage you can cause in a fight while working off their pent up aggression in a controlled, collegial atmosphere?"
The UFC is arguably the most well known mma tournament. When this was made anybody who watched the UFC knew that they were watching highly trained athletes. HOWEVER, a step backwards has been taken in the form of Roy Nelson. How is anybody meant to take it serious as a sport when somebody with a complete disregard for physical fitness is allowed to compete. At least when he goes up against a top 10 fighter he will be put in his place. He's has currently been given the fodder.
The MSP made me chuckle :-)
Quite a nice production, very interesting!

Enjoyed watching your documentary, liked how public opinion is so wrong. Started training BJJ 6months.
Hardest sport I've ever done. The aggression I started with has went down and been replaced with determination, and self-respect.
Hope your doing well at the BBC.
Respect to all who train and study martial arts, and especially the ones brave enough to get in the ring.
