About to install a 2.7 eta with my 3.23i head on my E21. What can I expect the difference to be as everything I read says there will be a loss of hp. If so , what can I do to increase output?

in my comment you see i call it variable cam timing (vct) i used the term vtec very fluidly, just for the fact its a generic term in the sense of car knowledge. altho honda is the first auto maker to do variable timing on the intake cam, normally it is done on the exhaust cam

@sarazinj Its actually called VCT, not vtec, and ford uses it a lot, on the escort zx2, etc etc. It helps with a SMALL amount of low end torque

just to let you know, bmw invented variable cam timing, also known as vtec, and no, honda is not the only car maker to use vtec, ford uses it, mazda uses it, nissan uses it. honda is the only one that calls it vtec
