  • i rather watch this the olympic fenching

  • @xihangyang

olympic fencing has really so many rules and is consequently

    quite limited

  • That's nice... but I think that most of the blows wouldn't cause serious wounds, only light ones. Maybe you should practice with larger movements ;)

(This is only what I think, so please don't think I'm criticizing you)

  • Thanks for your comment.

Did you see Chow Yun Fat ´s swordfighting in "Tiger and Dragon"? His Wudang movements are also quite small.

European medieval swordfighters and also ancient japanese swordfighters had to deal with opponents with heavy armours, chinese swordfighters did not.

    The systems differ very much.

  • finally a decent video! been looking forever for wudang jian sparring! oh what style of wudang is this? i loved the moves and also the computer effect when one scores a hit point! very very cool, and very demonstrative!

  • Thanks a lot!!!

many techniques are from the set

"16 principles" (shi liu tse jian)

check out our other wudang videos...

  • @EKOkoeln These swords arent used for fighting in wars..... it's kinda personal use. Talking about heavy armours, chinese has tons of weapons against them, even sword in war is much more different from this one.

  • If you are interested in testing your skills, the First European Full Contact Chinese Swordplay Tournament will be held May 28, '11 in Oldambt, Netherlands under the Traditional Chinese Sword League rules. They have been putting on National Tournaments in the US for 3 years. The event is being organized by the Dutch Jianfa Foundation, jianfa - nl.

  • I have to say this is interesting to see as I've always wanted to see Wudang jianshu in action. Though one thing I wouldn't recommend is jumping like that unless you've disrupted your opponent's stance or got them off balance in some way

  • Hey should train in other styles. It looks like they're actually predicting and reading each other in their minds instead of actually reading each other

  • Wow thats shiter than kendo

  • @EKOkoeln also it to fast i can not see who won. they need elektriccitty for that.

also they keep on jumping and after 2 minute they got tired.

  • The sword is very subtle and would have been razor sharp so all of these subtle strokes would have devastating consequences for the opponent. Good video.
