Clearly a difference in comparison from the RK35 to the Gibson conversion. In my opinion its the tone ring differential. Bell brass (RK35) to the Pre-war Bell bronze of the conversion, unless rings have been swapped. The Price Tailpiece is a nice option for the conversion enhances the tone by proper string end alignment. In my opinion I would change my thumbpick from metal to plastic or even torti to cut back on some harsh overtones.
you are way 2 nervous. slow down & play solid. just dont take nerve pills or u will be all screwed up. most banjos never stay in tune unless u got a fat wallet. the cheap ones will let u down but it is mostly the man behind it..

The Gibson seems to have a bit more depth to it. Maybe a bit more beef as well. I like the R35, planning on getting one.
Great demo and excellent playing!
