I have had problems with the Comcast DVR for years. The box resets and crashes all the time. I'm wondering who else has these issues. Is TIVO a better alternative? I'd switch to a dish today but a big chunk of my cable bill is payed through my homeowner association dues, so switching will be very expensive for me - but I'm getting close to pulling the plug.

  • That video predates the software / guide update that happened a year or so ago. But the DVR service still doesn't work any better... different bugs, but still annoying. And the overall new interface is harder to use and more intrusive. I called so often that Comcast finally comped me one month service, so I stopped complaining. BTW I agree with dhide14 that is is a shitty TV, cost me $4000 back in the very early days of plasma screens tho'.

  • that's because scientific Atlanta /Cisco systems had to go through a guide update to fix the software in the boxes that's why it didn't work this problem went on for over a year... i know because i work for Comcast and deal with it on a daily basis

  • been through the same thing this past month! now they gave me a brand new dch6412 and have not had any trouble.

  • Upstream noise / return xmit problem.

  • get a tivo and see if comcast gives u cable card u wont have to use they crappy boxes ever again

  • I'm having problems with my Motorola box --- keeps resetting, like yours. Comcast says "a technician has to look at it". B*ll.
