Another thought-provoking topic.
If desire is "when you get what you want", then it falls prey to the human weakness of self-indulgence. Conversely, then, will, which is "when you can do what you don't want to", requires our human strength, spiritual and physical, i.e."will power". Could we summize that they are opposites and the 1 thing desire & will have in common is wishing? You discuss wishing w/regard to will but not desire. Also, can we develop spiritual growth during inner silence?

Precisely. That is the confusing part. If inner silence involves stopping the internal dialog, then is there still mediation or self-examination or contemplation needed as a catalyst for spiritual growth? Mireya in VA.
