The Black VCi-100 shown in this video is not available in the states. It was a Japan only release. There was however a limited edition version sold by Dj TT at www.djtechtools.com/store/
with a customized layout and firmware.

Its my understanding that the pitch fader resolution was improved as well but I need to confirm that.

why make an improvement if they arent going to truly make it perfect? you still gotta buy a soundcard to preview your songs for this thing..would it kill them to put a head phone jack? or something i mean this thing would be great the best out there if they did that

yeah but its very easy to buy a sound card that does just that and is more cost effective. You can get a simple dj sound card for under $100 and we will doing a video on all the options in the next week.

How can you tell what the newer model silver VCI100 is (the one with the fault with the scratching wheel)

press both of the scratch engage buttons at the same time. If the pitch bend is disabled then you have the newer firmware without the scratching problem. If nothing happens then you have the old one.
