It's what everybody is talking about!

USC Vietnamese Student Association proudly presents its 33rd Annual Culture Night: "Call on Me: The Tie That Binds" ("Đường Dây Tiếp Nối") in Bovard Auditorium from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. Each year, the USC VSA highlights the rich traditions of the Vietnamese culture through song, dance, commercials and performances. Admission is FREE, and everyone gets a chance to win prizes worth $100 each!

This year's show focuses on the journey of self-discovery and the challenges of balancing a bicultural identity. The production portrays a story about three cousins: Mai, Alan, and Sam. Mai and her family immigrated to the United States five years ago. Though she's been slowly trying to acculturate to the American way of life, her parents have not, and she's been looking after them ever since. Alan's parents immigrated to the United States thirty years ago and impressed on him the idea that in order to succeed in America, one must adopt American customs and values. Following this lifestyle, he has rejected his Vietnamese heritage for a successful future. Sam's mother immigrated from Vietnam thirty years ago when she met a US Army private in the Vietnam war and fled Vietnam to start a new life with him. Now her daughter is trying to find out what it means to have one foot in two cultures and how she can be both Vietnamese and American. These three cousins embark on an arduous journey of identity and self-discovery where they cross paths with their histories and their futures. Mai, Alan, and Sam soon discover that, through all of their differences, they're all following the same path in their search for one thing: themselves.

The students of the Vietnamese Student Association at USC have worked hard to bring to the USC and Vietnamese community culture night to celebrate our vibrant spirit and our pride in our Vietnamese heritage.

Admission is free and donations are appreciated. We hope to see you there!
