Thanks for the interesting explanation re the acoustics, and the microphone.
Speaking of recording techniques----did you know that when stereo was at the experimental stage recitals, operas, etc were used secretly as a trial for stereo, unknown to the singers---the record companies were afraid these great artistes would demand DOUBLE the fee!True.

Rowna, you posting these tough Cantorial pieces -- sung with musical accuracy and fabulous vocal technique -- make you such a resource for Cantorial students. Keep posting! You can't post too much! What would the Cantorial world do without you!

Thank you David, for all of your kind words and thoughts. My hope is that the congregations who use these tunes can hear them so that for the High Holy Days, they can join in and sing the responses.

I really do like the way your voice is captured by the acoustics.Gives it a surreal quality----I mean that in the nicest possible way.

The accoustics have a particular sound because it is recorded is a cavernous auditorium (our sanctuary) - high ceilings, etc. I wear a head mike because I stand under an overhang and need a "boost" and besides, because so much of the liturgical music sits low in the voice, and my voice carries best in the upper registers. Thank you for all your kind and very much appreciated comments. Rowna
