A basic understanding of capital theory (Mises or Hayek) would let you comprehend what happens to the process of production during the artificially induced boom and the necessary corrections that must occur in order for growth to ever happen again. Malinvestment must be wiped out, prices must adjust, and a proper production:consumption ratio restored for anybody to have a clue what is a proper way to act for perceived future profitability.

Tax breaks are not the problem, out of control spending is. When America ushered in fascism during the 1930s it became readily apparent that the spending would keep increasing to drastic heights. How does stealing less from people slow a recovery? We're in this situation from too much inflation, too much borrowing, and too much consumption. What should we do, inflate more, borrow more, and spend more?

Our taxes are ridiculous. Taxation is nothing more than extortion; it is threatening somebody with future actions for a payment or something else in the present. It's not ok to steal from people at all. Stealing over a quarter of everything that people earn makes them serfs not citizens. Of course you believe that some omniscient bureaucrat can plan all our lives into utopia because you still can't grasp that value is subjective.

So it makes sense to extort people (corporations) more going by how they spend their money? Perhaps if we didn't tax them we wouldn't have companies fleeing out of this debt ridden police state for a place where they can operate more freely. Microsoft could spend that 26 cents on the dollar much better than the moron federal government could; they still can't figure out how to deliver the mail.

Yes, we continue to fund wars and tax breaks for the rich in the face of future debt burdens. I don't like how high it is, I'm still relatively young. But, the time to do this was when we had a surplus, not during the worst recession in recent memory. Your prescription will slow the recovery, and thus limit the amount of revenue the gov can bring in. It's not rational. We don't need these wars, we don't need health care that delivers far too little for what we pay.

They are not ridiculous. Our tax rate is much lower than most of the industrialised world. Our workers are more expensive due to a higher standard of living (in part possible due to programs fought for and implemented by liberals).
