@strangerthanknown Just looked into it. The "Grand Slam Single". How bizarre. Thanks for the heads up.

@tastethejace The baseball story is indeed true. The batter was the Mets' Robin Ventura, and his batted ball that cleared the fence was put in the books as a single. The event occurred Oct. 17, 1999.

I don't believe the validity of the baseball story. RBIs are always counted for statistical reasons, in the regular and post-season.

Worst story ever.......god damn horrible. I dont gamble anymore......now i just drink :(

ben stein is like nails on a chalkboard

@cinndave I'd imagine the ratio of the well-to-do to poor's money is high enough that the poor spend more % of their earnings on tickets than the people making 70 grand.

@DietLite1986 Look genius.. poor people do buy lottery tickets but you're talking about 10 bucks.10 bucks in the grand scheme of things is not gonna matter.Ten bucks doesn't pay rent, electrical, or water, car payment or insurance on said car.I think it's a waste of money that could go to food but besides that they see it as a longshot but what the hell I have nowhere to go but up so ....
The lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.
