Dr. Gary L. Baldwin received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966, 1967, and 1970, respectively. Dr. Baldwin has extensive experience in the corporate arena, holding technical and management positions at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Holmdel, New Jersey, and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto, California. A former Acting Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at UC Berkeley, Dr. Baldwin has served most recently as the Executive Director of the Gigascale Silicon Research Center (1999-2003). Dr. Baldwin currently also serves as the Assistant Dean for Industrial Relations in the College of Engineering at Berkeley.

Baldwin: My primary responsibility will be to foster continued interaction and a stronger relationship between CITRIS and its industrial partners. It is also my charge to help the CITRIS leadership ensure that the commitments we've made to our industrial partners, the University administration, faculty, students, and the people of the State of California are fulfilled. It's important that we're delivering value to the individuals and groups who have invested in the organization, and that relationships with our partner groups are strengthened and solidified over time.
CITRIS has a huge opportunity right now to leverage the connections we've already established to cultivate even more opportunities for collaborative research at all four CITRIS campuses. My goal is to help CITRIS grow into a well-run, world-class organization - one that is uniquely positioned make a difference not just here in California, but also in communities around the world that utilize the technologies developed by CITRIS researchers...
