hi does anyone know of a tv series(80's) from america, basically its about a gate in Egypt that a american family go through (not sure why or how) but they end up in a different dimension or something, where they are on a planet like earth,but different, for example a country or region where women rule and men are slave, trying to get back again, help ! p.s its not a cartoon

Most of you are wrong. Every Sliders fan knows it was that bastard ***DAVID PECKINPAH*** that destroyed what could have been one of the best sci fi franchises of all time. Rest in peace, but he still fucked up this show. Kromaggs, killing Arturo, Introducing Maggie -- all his retarded ideas. It got so bad, Jerry O'Conell and his brother refused to return for season five unless they got creative control over the show. They didn't and the rest is, unfortunately, history.

I read that the finalie was actually supposed to be MUCH different at first: they were supposed to return to Earth Prime and finally defeat the Kromaggs there and free it by using Geiger's Combine technology, but they changed their minds, like they did about the Evil Colin plotline and John Rhys-Davies version of Exodus which was supposed to be MUCH different.

@AnnoyingXboxer I read that The Exodus was supposed to go MUCH different when John Reys Davies wrote it. No Proffesor dying, no evil Rickman nothing like that. They made a change though, getting rid of Tracy Torme, creator of the show (at least I think he's the creator) and firing the actor who played the Proffessor.

@WarGrowlmon18 There, Quinn and Colin are finally reunited with their parents who cure Mallory of his muscular dystrophy once and for all, but the Sliders decide to return home afterwards with Quinn deciding to return to Earth Prime as he grew up there. The Sliders are given special timers so they can visit each other and Kromagg Prime whenever they want then slide to Earth Prime where they seperate for good with Mallory and Diana returning home where they destroy Logan's timer.

@WarGrowlmon18 They end up discovering a clone of Geiger and with his help are finally able to seperate Quinn and Mallory by using the cloning technology to clone Quinn a new body, but with the side-effect that Mallory is paralyzed again. At Quinn's suggestion, they spend the second to last story trying to reach Quinn and Colin's homeworld and thanks to the combined efforts of Quinn, Colin and Diana, finally succed.

@WarGrowlmon18 and the Sliders use her timer to continue their journey, leaving Logan to get arrested and bringing Mrs. Mallory back to Earth Prime. They then continue Sliding and manage to reanchor Colin and return to Mallory and Diana's homeworld where they use a comination of the combine and Kromagg technology to heal the damage Colin had from being unstuck and to try to build Quinn a new body to transfer him to, but fail in seperating Quinn again.
