How to hook up and use your ipod through your stereo on your 2010 KIA Forte (all models).
Benefit: Clearer sound, simpler use, safer, and oh yeah, did I mention it sounds awesome!
It used to be that using your ipod in your car meant either buying an FM transmitter, which worked well only at the best of times, or purchasing an expensive deck and cable. KIAs engineers knew it should be better. Every KIA vehicle comes with an auxiliary/USB ipod hookup. This feature lets you control your ipod through your stereo, for safer use, and the clearest of sound, enabling you to get the most out of your musical experience.

  • @shalantas This seems so ridiculous that I can't tell if it is satirical or literal. Either way this is hilarious :)

  • It doesn't charge through there. When its about to die there's another plug in there that hooks up to the solar panel in the sun roof. Only problem is that it only works on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. If you have an iPhone 3G or 3GS then you have to purchase an adapter. You can get them at any store that sells electronic devices. They run anywhere from 150 - 250 dollars. Hope this helps!!!!

  • Great vid!

    Two questions:

1.is it supposed to be purchased no matter what trim level of the car you buy? Or does the cable come included with the car on certain trim levels (LX, SX, etc)

2.if used with an iPhone, will it also charge it while playing music?

    Thanks!

  • Hi I rented a 2011 Kia sorento that have a iPod jack like that under the radio but I just want 2 use the charger USB cable how do I get 2 work ???

  • thanks, eh

  • Thanks! Just bought the Kia Forte and I've been trying to get this to work. My iPod connector doesn't work but I'll try using the aux port at the same time. *cross fingers*

  • this looks like the 2011 model, im confused!

  • i got that cable and it works pretty well with the iphone too

  • i connected my ipod to my sisters kia soul with the regular ipod usb cable and it worked the same.

  • Now why can't Kia put this in the very thick owner's manual??? It would have saved me a lot of aggravation.

    Thanks for posting this!
