Dr. Aaron G. Hager, Associate Professor of Weed Science in the Department of Crop Sciences at University of Illinois, expands on his presentation about weed management issues.
Aaron G. Hager was raised in a rural community in west-central Illinois. He attended Southern Illinois University, completing his Bachelor of Science at SIUC in 1991. He then went to Michigan State University where he received a Master of Science in weed science in 1993.
Near the completion of his M.S., Hager successfully interviewed for a weed science extension specialist position in the Department of Agronomy at the University of Illinois where he continued his graduate work while serving as a full-time extension specialist, ultimately completing his Ph.D. in 2001.
Hager began his tenure as a faculty extension weed scientist in 2002. Currently, he holds a 70/30 extension/research appointment in the Department of Crop Sciences where he serves as a state faculty specialist in weed biology and management. Hager's principal objective is to develop and deliver effective, high-impact applied weed science research and extension programs.
