So the economic stimulus plan just passed 61/37 in the Senate so I decided to learn a little bit more about it. Pardon the noise in the background, I only have an hour and a half for lunch so I was watching the town hall that Obama is hosting in Fort Myers.

  • This economic funk has affected my city quite a bit.

I live in BC in Canada and the main thing that our little city does is run a number of mills that produce a lot of lumber that's shipped out to practically every where. I can't tell you how many mills have already shut down and how many people are out of jobs. I'm just glad that my job is mostly secured as I have seniority over other employees... but it my boss is forced to close I'm pretty boned.

  • I'm at school right now, but I can't imagine how my little hometown is holding up. All the media focus is on the places that lay off thousands and thousands of people, they never seem to mention the places where a few hundred or even a few are let go. Those losses are just as scarring, if not more so. I wish you luck in holding on. Hopefully, this will all be better soon. I know it's going to take awhile but keeping hope up is important.

  • I must say e way u deal with the ignorant people is amusing. 5/5 for just that. oh yes and thanks for the break down . any more money in my walet even if 5 bucks a month.. will help for sure.

  • Thanks! I was only able to touch on a few of the key areas, there is so much in this bill it's crazy. Crazy in a good way of course. :)

  • I hope it works! Thanks for the breakdown. I think we all need to get educated about this bill.

I'm impressed by your handling of the crazy people with their mean comments by the way. It seems that there is an element on YouTube who try and drive away anyone that doesn't meet their standards. I've seen several awesome people drop out because of the haters.

Stay strong and thanks for the videos!

  • I still need to learn more, especially since the reconciliation between the houses. The updated bill is supposed to be a bit different than when I initially made this video, though the essence is the same.

When I first started on here I would just delete meaner comments, but I've found that it is far more therapeutic to respond directly. I still find it fascinating that nobody responds afterwards. Youtube is one of the great human experiments. :)

  • Who do you think is going to have to pay this money back Ding Dong? Yes, you are obviously a Democrat without a clue! How's that stimulus working for you now? The US is in debt almost $14 Trillion, 5 of that in the last 2 years with your Hero. His mission is to bankrupt this nation and he is right on target. And you will vote for him again because you're naive and too lazy to find out the truth.

  • So very true. YouTube is a great experiment. So much anonymity for those of us watching. We're still a television generation, used to mindless television, unused to the fact that those who make videos are there, listening, real, complex and fragile lives who deserve respect as much as anyone we love in our lives. We step into this global space half-blinded.

Let the future come with accountability; we'll see with some shame our compassionless youth.

  • Do you really think terrorists would use the same method twice? They are terrible human beings who are seriously misguided but they aren't stupid, unlike some other people. I can afford certain items necessary for a college education thanks to loans. The TV is not mine, it is my roommates, nor was it on a cable channel. As for being a human stain, that sort of statement requires clarification. Are you saying that I am a stain on humanity or literally a stain? Your language is somewhat lacking...
