Hi what's your mods?
-
these clowns forget 4.10 gears are good for more power and torque lmao obv just motor work wont get huge power but my friends bolt on gt is still running stock manifolds and 4.10s that also hit 290 rwhp.. ppl underestimate 2valves.. ford FTW. nice car man

@rob0rat If that's your take on it, then you don't understand the concept of marketing. No production model is going to be "top notch" for the simple fact that the producers (in this case Ford) WANTED to make a high value aftermarket industry. So no, they wouldn't necessarily put the parts in themselves. Nickle and dime gets you far in life, up until the point that you've reached the threshold itself, then it's forced induction all the way. But 50-70 additional rwhp is not unheard of.

@TheArmydude050290 Im with stangguy on this. No way you're gonna get 70hp from bolt ons. Best thing for these stangs are superchargers, gears, exhaust and good tires. Little bolt ons won't do anything. If you could get 20 hp from a simple bolt on, then im sure Ford would've put it in to begin with. The PI motors had revised heads, cams and manifold, and that only gave it about an extra 40hp.

For all I know, the car put down 100hp there's no proof.

@02stangguy More like a dyno tellin ya mate. Go with the right set up and you can get damn fine results. As for pos 2v 4.6, if you've got that kind of view on them, then you obviously don't work with them enough to actually see the end results of a nice bolt-on set up. So, here's an idea, unless you've tried it and proven it wrong, doesn't that kind of make you an illiterate on the subject? I mean, hell, in the field of mechanics, you don't know unless you try it. Something many have done before

@TheArmydude050290 ahahahah 20rwhp from a intake!? did the box tell u that? 10-13 from a pulley!? these are little pos 2v 4.6 motors. they dont respond to shit but forced induction. i can see maybe 15-20 from the exhaust but thats about it.

@02stangguy Every forum huh? I find that hard to believe dude, I've seen many like this that pump out 290-300 rwhp from bolt-ons and std tunes. The tune alone (depending on how you tune it) will pick you up about 30hp at the rear wheels. Let alone the 15-20 you can pick up from a fine exhaust system plus the average 10-13 hp at the rear wheels from an underdrive pulley, a good +20rwhp from an average Cold Air intake will get you right into those 290+rwhp marks.
-
@TheArmydude050290 what the hell is a std tune anyway? just a custom tune? iv been on every mustang forum for years now and have never seen a bolt on 99-04 gt dyno 290 rwhp. guys with cams are barly makin that. i think the highest bolt on and cams gt iv seen was somethin like 310
-
@02stangguy Um, dude, full exhaust, STD tune, bombin cold air intake, a 78mm throttle body, and a new underdrive pully can snag you that extra 70 if you play it right. Hell, depending on the application, an STD tune alone can get you an additional 30 rwhp. Couple that with the other above listed bolt-ons and you should be runnin anywhere between 290-310 rwhp easy.
