  • Great video, that is something I am going to be doing this weekend. I need it to see this instead of reading instructions.

    Thank you.

  • @Gadp74 no problem man, glad to be of help

  • What is the setup in your range rover, daihatsu engine and box or Daihatsu engine and range rover gearbox? Did you have to change much?

  • it was the DL52 engine + LT77/LT230 Land Rover gearbox, it was a good conversion in it's time, i fitted it about 9 years ago, i've since found out the main bearings failed because of low oil pressure due to badly worn Turbo bearings. i'm in the process of fitting a 300TDI in at the moment

  • Hey frank!!! i love this video, can't wait to see the rebuild, i will rate this video at 20 stars =)

  • Nene, it;s coming soon, but working outside in the U.K. winter time is no fun!

  • Nice. I didn't have any trouble getting the top bearing cap out of my Landy, of course, I probably did it entirely wrong, and screwed something up.

  • Hi Mark, the conversions done, TWICE! the first 300 was abit of a smoker, so i bought another short block, fit that, and it seems a good engine, but i need to m.o.t. the rangie now, but i,ve been real busey with the house and other projects, there's just not enough time in the day!

  • yeah, the heads flat, with seperate combustion chambers, they're supposed to be smoother and quieter than direct injection, but they aren't quite as efficient, esp. if you run em with no oil, like me!

  • Ha!. It must have some clearence for a squish band. All engines do! But ive never really seen the head off an indirect injection engine. Im asuming its flat though? with no combustion chambers?
