A former ESL teacher from Chuncheon, South Korea, present a few quirky tips on how to navigate the difference between Korean and American culture. Tamar answers questions such as "What is lacking in Korean and American restrooms?", "How ubiquitous is kimchi and ketchup in Korean and American refrigerators?" and gives a couple of examples of how homonyms can confuse and amuse people.

  • Some are the stereotypes you listed are incorrect. I have never met anybody that said "Westerners eat everything with ketchup", and there are toilet paper and soap in many many public places in canada and korea. Bus terminal, subway stops...

  • @azntuan When I lived in Thailand for a short time, we were in cahoots with a German group and that's exactly what they thought of American cuisine "You Americans put ketchup on everything!" The next day I got a picture of one of the German guys putting dollops of ketchup (and nothing else) on some white bread and eating it because that was his parody of the American diet.

  • Wtf, there's always (or at least 95% of the time) soap in American bathrooms.

  • @truthspeaks84 Not in the public parks. You're lucky if they have running water to rinse off your hands.

  • one similarity between yankees and koreans is both are the noisiest & show off nations for west and east respectively ..

  • Who are you calling a Yankee?

  • The difference between ketchup and Kimchi is that you will NEVER find ketchup in my Fridge.

  • @jstele blow me , will u shithead ? ..not only me , but other koreans too will kick your ugly ass

  • @ytertyu Oh, just fuck off. You should have been clear. The Koreans outside of Korea are less culturally Korean.

  • @jstele I was talking about koreans , not korea , u dumbo ......koreans are everywhere , and yes I know them quite well .. personally I have nothing against koreans , but my dog hates them , and I can't blame him ;)

  • @ytertyu Not true. You obviously don't know Korea.

  • Koreans and Koreanamerican must be careful in public because

their breath is very garlicky from eating korean food. Please people put a mint in your mounth everytime you go outside.
