Dawkins doing what he does best.
The statement or motion under discussion was "we'd be better off without religion"

  • @davidjarvissound Evolution is one of the most basic principles in biology so yeah, I'd pretty much state that it is part of science, yes. The fun thing is that science works with claims that are then supported by evidence or not. Study DNA and then come back and tell us evolution is a lie. Please refrain from commenting on that which you have no clue about.

  • If it's called Intelligence², being in line with algebra, why aren't there parenthesis around the entire word...

  • @BlakeMcMurrayMusic Not everybody is a close minded nitpicker and algebra doesnt use full words so it wouldn't be in line with it to begin with.

  • @davidjarvissound Evolution is a proven fact which requires no belief to make it true or seem true in your head. The nice thing about a scientific fact is that it's still true, wheterh you believe it or not. You can deny gravity as much as you want, it's not going to go away. All you are doing is pointing out your own ignorance about the science behind it all.

  • @davidjarvissound Man did not evolve into an ape or bat, what the HELL are you talking about? we have enough examples of fossils of early man by the way. Doesn't the name Lucy ring a bell?

  • @JJSLATER1991 NOOOOOO! evolution like all scientific theories is by definition very much 'refutable'. If we find a horse' fossil, below a certain level, date it to be older than a certain (million) of years... then evolution as we know it now would be absolutely false.

    @RebelWrestler45 HODOR!

  • @davidjarvissound evolution is irrefutable! faith is; belief without evidence, science is belief based on empirical evidence, its wonderfully simple.

  • @byteresistor nah, not that way. i mean people finding those stories and believing that they are true. as you see with every religion, logic plays no part. i would love to find a church of harry potter in the future and people giving reasons why it is real to them and how they don't need any more evidence but the books.

    and about scientology and money, every religion aims for the money, one way or another.

  • @Darac2 We already have that kind of lunacy, it's called scientology. A science fiction author invented a religion (he himself admitted he made it up and even gave a reason why: money) and yet there are thousands of idiots still following it.

  • @Darac2 Dude, I read A Song of Ice and Fire ( which birthed the Game of Thrones HBO series), and the religion of the many faced god looks legit. I too want to be a super awesome ninja assassin like Arya and Jaqen H'gar.

  • i always wonder if in a 1000 or 2000 years people will have a religion about Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc. I mean, consider it. There are multiple books telling the story. Humans are in it. Animals talk, there is magic and everything. And there is as much proof as there is for any other religion in the world. I would love to hear the preacher talk about the battle of Helms Deep, where we humans repeled an arm of orks and saved the world.

  • @davidjarvissound even assuming your example is true (i don't know what Nhm is), that alone does not and is insufficient to disprove the theory of evolution and rebut all the other examples in the fossil record that support the theory. it's almost a non-sequitur when you next state your conclusory statement about evolution.

  • @davidjarvissound what a load of rubbish you speak! no surprise really though!

  • Sorry- work cut out there. I need and a new phone

  • Well I've got my workout out there, :( cheers. see you in a year after my detective work, in the mean time, my most reliable source is the electron microscope, bible, 'expelled' documentary and interviews with Dawkins and Reilly ...... Lol. Of course thanks for being a less rude Darwiniac .
