William Heath Robinson is, and probably always will be, my favorite British illustrator from the turn of the 20th century. A contemporary of Arthur Rackham, Edward Dulac and Aubrey Beardsley, Heath Robinson enjoyed an almost 'rock star' status in his lifetime. However nowadays, for whatever reason, he is now probably the least remembered of these great artists around the world! I therefore created and circulated this short film presentation of his work (not animated!) to motivate galleries on the West Coast of America to stage an exhibition of his work. Sadly, my mission was not successful, although a very successful similar exhibition toured the UK a short while ago I undestand. As a result, William Heath Robinson is yet to be re-discovered by art lovers in the USA or elsewhere around the world! I did at least try!

(Note: The contact information for me at the end of this film is NO LONGER ACTIVE, so please do not attempt to email me or call the phone number given! Thank you.)

  • @CapraCorn2006 Yes, I wholly agree with you. ツ

  • @bwcajp I beg to disagree! I do not believe the music to be at all "in-the-face"! But, such is life! Take care, my regards, Tim. ツ

  • As a young child, I adored reading both Professor Branestawm and viewing the work of William Heath Robinson. …

  • Thank you very much Tony. This is absolutely superb. …

  • Very comprehensive choice of images, though the music is a little too in-the-face perhaps. The live actor bears a striking resemblance! Well done, and good luck with the museum project.

  • This looks like it would have been a great project (the film and the exhibit) . The little bits of animation you've doe of Lubin look great.
