@fafaforza Ok lol. Well I agree with that point. Often times the movements and facial gestures are taught by teachers because they are showy, but in fact hinder the pianists ability to play. The best pianists can bring out emotion without throwing their bodies around. Otherwise, it's just distracting (e.g. Lang Lang).

But the real point that I was making was that people discount and criticize players if they don't make correct facial gestures or don't portray being heavily moved by the music in a way that suits them.

I'd rather people respond to that point.

Umm, yeah, when I said "I have little musical talent" that might indicate that I don't know much about music, but when I listened to some Rubenstein performances, my ear did hear places where the timing between notes was erratic, and it didn't sound fluid and correct to my ear. I don't know whether it was meant to be that way, but my ears didn't like it.

So what I originally said was that Pollini plays well by my ears and doesn't have to stage a facial performance for me to enjoy him.
