What kind of speaker wire is best for a home theater setup? Which gauge to choose? Is one brand better than another? Watch the video to find out how to best hook up your speakers for the best sound.
@r0bes7 I have a question regarding speaker wires, I was thinking of getting a 25-Foot 12 AWG. I heard the lower AWG the better? xD Any educational comments are welcome :D
@r0bes7 So where exactly is the "misinformation and bad opinions?" He said "Using connectors, always a better idea than bare wire." And he said to use solder at the very least. He also said thicker gauge wire is always better also. So what in the hell are you talking about? Maybe you should listen more carefully before you shoot your mouth off. They actually give some pretty good basic info.
This video is full of misinformation and bad opinions!
You DEFINITELY want to tin wires before putting them into press down jacks or else you'll get arching across the strands which can lead to static and eventually equipment failure.
I changed out all my wire ends to banana plugs and my sound felt much "punchier" and "fuller" afterwards.
If you have little 20w plastic cased satellite speakers, yes, 19gauge wire is fine, but thicker cable WILL ABSOLUTELY deliver fuller more life-like sound
what do you mean, pin connectors are better than banana connectors? bulsht!!
