It's Psychedelic Rock, not Black Metal.
It's Occult, not Okkult (learn to spell please).
They're a Pagan/Wiccan band, not Gothic.

@HolyOrderr I think you are the one that has no idea at all. The lyrics feature okkult themes, thats right, but the music itself is 70ties Psychedelic Rock. Have you ever heard about the other 2 records Coven released? The music is in the same vein although the lyrics are different and have no okkult themes anymore although there is are still okkult pics of the band in the innersleve of their third record.

@HolyOrderr Regarding this band, Coven is a band from the hippie generation, you know... the late 60s and shit. It all evolved around drugs, espacially lsd and marijuana. Hippies also had a great interest in the occult, even satanism and devil worship. Coven is an occult-satanic hippie band, just listen to their fucking sound and lyrics: they sound like they're on something psychedelic. And yet they're not aggressive or fast... they're smooth and groovy ---> NOT BLACK METAL AT ALL !!!!
-
@HolyOrderr But their themes were more about sacrificing virgins, demons and the devil, so that was the supreme idea of black metal, you know: an even faster version of speed/thrash metal with themes about the devil and "dark/evil" things. But, remember, dumbass: it was a very fast and aggressive style of metal ! Then you have mercyful fate, hellhammer, bathory, buldozer... These are proto-black metal; they were fast and very aggressive and yet technical !

@HolyOrderr Their debut "Welcome to Hell" was more NWOBHM, but later on was clasified as being speed metal. Then you have their fucking second album: Black Metal. Voilà... there you have it. Venom said they were singing about witches, satan, hell, demons, sex and even drugs and they said this kind of themes to metal are considered "evil"... And then you have "black magic" which can be considered equivalent to "evil". So... that's Black Metal: evil metal !

Gothic Black Metal? Hahaha - crap - thats just 70ties Psychedelic rock, but still great!

This is a song about Annie Palmer, the witch of Rose Hall. Jinx Dawson put her heart into her Great Work and I approve of her triumph of musical Will.
Do what thou wilt, or do what thou guilt.
