  • No, when we saw this in London we didn't get that impression. It took a few years to see this cast with Belinda Hatley and Steven MacRae to get the right feeling... also, both Cojocaru and Rojo had matured into the roles. This performance looks good in retrospect, but in the theatre it did not transcend. Years later it did and it got the ovation it deserved. This is not just any ballet... as Sibley once said "this is what Heaven must be like."

  • Have thought that about that resemblance between Fonteyn and Rojo before this. Glad to see it's not just me. It is a more clear resemblance in an Ashton work like this where the whole cast has been coached extremely well in the Ashton aesthetic. Wow, did they know that in retrospect they were getting a state occasion cast???

  • идеальной синхронизации с красивой хореографией (хорошие танцоры) технически красивый балет

  • There is something about Rojo in this clip that recalls Fonteyn...the proportions, the face, the combination of quiet exactitude with freedom of movement...I don't know quite what it is, but it's marvelous.
