The centreline of the tube should have met the centre node of the ball joint sleeve for added strength.

Positioning the joint between the lower control arm tubes and the ball joint sleeve so that the center of the sleeve is colinear with the centerline of the tubes would provide more of a perpendicular surface area for welding the joint... I will certainly consider this approach if additional strength is required. Thanks for the idea!
